It was a typical Sunday morning and I woke up how it usually was, then my mom introduced me to dried chilli. Obviously I know what chilli is. Its a red/green kind-of-fruit that burns people inside out. You can say that my mom is a huge fan of chilli because she requires chilli to accompany her every meal ( except breakfast ). Basically, she noticed a few chilli peppers tacked under the vegetable slots in the fridge and decided to leave them to dry. Since we live in a flat, we have no backyard or whatsoever to hang them dry. Use the laundry area I guess? So we hang them on a bamboo pole and dry them at the ceiling. I don't know what happened to them but they ended up pretty burnt by the sun. The seeds became visible against the translucent dried skin. Every vein on the skin was clear and intricate. The whole pod was a piece of art.
What you need:
A few Chilli Peppers
Strings/ Plate/ Wire rack
Once you see neglected Chilli Peppers in your fridge or your grandmother's house, grab it. You can either remove the seeds or just leave it. If you like spicy and the thrilling feel, the seeds add to that kind of thing. Use any strings and tie it around the stalk of the Chilli/Place on the plate or wire rack. Pat dry the surface to ensure that it is dry. Dry at places around the house whereby it is well-ventilated. Wait for at least 1 week or until surface turns dark red. The end results should review a soft yet dried chilli, if it turns out brittle then its probably stored wrongly. (The smaller the chilli, the spicier it gets). You can grind them up or use them as ornaments as desired.
Enjoy!
